HOW IT WORKS

Who is LIVE! for?

Anyone interested in finding Jewish ancestors, at any experience level — including Beginning/Intermediate/Advanced/Professional genealogists who cannot attend the conference in person. The LIVE! programming will include our most popular sessions for a variety of Jewish genealogy skill levels.

LIVE! is also for conference attendees who, due to schedule conflicts and multiple conference programs being offered simultaneously, cannot attend in-person, all the sessions they are interested in because LIVE! sessions are available for later playback on-demand.

How do I access LIVE!?

Once you have registered for LIVE!, log in to the LIVE! website with your email and password. The link to IAJGS! Video Access in the menu will take you to the page to watch the streaming videos.

If you subscribed for LIVE! on our conference registration site, you will receive an email before the conference with instructions for how to log in.

How do I ask questions of the lecturer?

Send a tweet with your Twitter account and include the hashtag #iajgslive and either #swan1 or #swan3 in your tweet. The swan hashtags identify the streaming room you are watching and is noted on the LIVE! schedule.

Are there handouts and how do I access them?

Handouts will be provided for each LIVE! session where the lecturer has provided them. (While all lecturers are encouraged to provide a handout, most, but not all, do.) There are two  methods for accessing the LIVE! handouts: (1) via links in the LIVE! schedules in the "Session Code" column  on the left (note: the schedule appears both at the LIVE! "schedule" link and on the LIVE! viewing pages) and (2) from the conference app.

When is LIVE! available?

LIVE! is available in real-time streaming mode during the scheduled time of the lecture (US Eastern Daylight Saving Time — EDT) at the 37th IAJGS International Conference on Jewish Genealogy in Orlando, 23–27 July 2017. Most lectures are scheduled for 1 hour and 15 minutes with 15 minute breaks in between. Two sessions are typically streamed simultaneously. You can watch one and view the other later on demand.

LIVE! additionally will be made available in on demand playback for up to 3 months after the conference (until Wednesday, 1 November 2017).

There will be a short period of unavailability for no more than 24 hours after the live lecture and the time it takes for the recorded on demand version to be made available on the LIVE! website.
